Dry Needling

Have you ever had those “knots” which are oh-so-painful and hinder your ability to move properly?

At Orthocare Physical Therapy Center, we refer to these “knots”  as “myofascial trigger points”. Our Physical Therapists are certified to provide Functional Dry Needling Services.

A myofascial trigger point is a sensitive area of the body, stimulation or irritation of which causes a specific effect in another part.

Trigger Points are an extremely common cause of pain and often present themselves as palpable nodules within the muscle (i.e. “knots”).

Dry Needling is a very effective technique for treatment of these myofascial trigger points in physical therapy. It is an increasingly popular therapeutic treatment procedure that involves inserting a very thin filament needle directly into the muscle that contains the trigger point.

Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs)
