Dry Needling

Dry Needling

Have you ever had those “knots” which are oh-so-painful and hinder your ability to move properly? Do not fear- Dry Needling is here.

At Orthocare Physical Therapy Center, we refer to these “knots”  as “myofascial trigger points”. Our Physical Therapists are certified to provide Functional Dry Needling Services.

A myofascial trigger point is a sensitive area of the body, stimulation or irritation of which causes a specific effect in another part.

Trigger Points are an extremely common cause of pain. Trigger points often present themselves as palpable nodules within the muscle (i.e. “knots”).

Dry Needling is a very effective technique for treatment of these myofascial trigger points in physical therapy. Patients increasingly prefer this popular therapeutic treatment procedure. The procedure involves inserting a very thin filament needle directly into the muscle that contains the trigger point.
