Our founder and owner – Dr. Shruti Ambegaonkar, PT DPT has over 20 years of physical therapy experience in multiple settings. She is passionate about helping patients return to their productive lives.

Dr. Ambegaonkar is a Direct Access Provider. This means that she  can treat patients for 14 days without a physician referral).

Dr. Ambegaonkar is certified in functional Trigger Point Dry Needling and specializes in treating orthopedic and musculoskeletal pain.

Education

Dr. Ambegaonkar has a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Mumbai, India, a Masters of Applied Science from Springfield College, Massachusetts, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Shenandoah University, Virginia.

Professional Experience

Dr. Ambegaonkar has been a faculty member in the Athletic Training Education Program at George Mason University since 2010. She had taught multiple courses related to assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. She has directed research programs, presented her work at professional conferences, and published her research in peer-reviewed journals.

She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has also received American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified Exercise Specialist and Health & Fitness Instructor certifications.

Dr. Ambegaonkar work experience spans multiple settings including the orthopedic and sports medicine outpatient clinic, hospital, cardiac and physical rehabilitation settings.

When not working, she enjoys music, traveling, painting, and spending time with her family.
